KARACHI: Islamabad United head coach Mike Hesson has said that hard-hitter batter Azam Khan is a special talent.
While talking to Geo News, the ex-New Zealand coach praised Azam but wants him to bring more consistency to his game.
"Azam can attack both spinners and pacers. He has the ability that very few have," he said.
"There is more more work to be done on Azam since he is still not a finished product. If he brings more consistency, every team in the world will pick him," Hesson added.
Meanwhile, Hesson also shed light on his experience in the PSL which he is thoroughly enjoying.
"I am very impressed with the cricketing talent in Pakistan. The spin bowling talent in the PSL is quite formidable. Pakistan need to work a little harder at power hitters.
On the other hand, Hesson talked about Islamabad United and methods to take the best out of his players.
"Islamabad's secret to success is maximising talent.
"Along with the young cricketers, there are seniors who want to improve themselves. We have many players in our team who fulfil the requirements of T20 cricket," he added.
"The most important thing for us is to figure out which player can help and what role he can play," he maintained.
Remember, the playoffs schedule of the PSL 9 has also been confirmed. Sultans will play Peshawar Zalmi in Qualifier 1 on March 14 while Gladiators play Islamabad United in the Eliminator on March 15.
Sultans and Zalmi have two chances of qualifying for the PSL 9 final after finishing at the top two of the points table since the loser of Qualifier 1 will take on the winner of Eliminator on March 16.
